Cortimax Suspension belongs to a group of medicines known as corticosteroids. Its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties give it the ability to treat a wide range of conditions in children. It is also one of the primary medicines used for Duchenne muscular dystrophy in infants and children.
Cortimax Suspension is a corticosteroid medicine that acts like the body's natural anti-inflammatory hormones called glucocorticoids. It decreases the formation of chemical substances involved in inflammation, allergy, and cell multiplication. It also suppresses the immune system and stops the immune mechanisms from causing any self-damage to the body.

What conditions should I avoid giving Cortimax Suspension to my child?
Avoid giving Cortimax Suspension to your child if they have conditions such as cardiac disease or congestive heart failure (except in the presence of active rheumatic carditis), hypertension, thromboembolic disorders, or diabetes mellitus. You should also avoid giving it to children with a family history of active TB, active herpes infection, osteoporosis, myasthenia gravis, or renal insufficiency.
What do I need to know about Cortimax Suspension and my child's immunizations?
For certain live or live-attenuated vaccines, your child should wait 4 to 6 weeks before starting Cortimax Suspension. Ensure that all necessary immunizations are given according to immunization guidelines before initiating Cortimax Suspension.
How should I store Cortimax Suspension at home?
Store the medicine in a cool, dry place out of reach of children and pets to avoid accidental intake.
Is it safe to give Cortimax Suspension to my child with a seizure disorder?
Prolonged use of Cortimax Suspension may lead to mental illness or worsen seizure disorders. Therefore, it is not recommended for children who already have a seizure disorder.
Prefer giving Cortimax Suspension with food as an empty stomach can trigger acidity and gastric reflux. Avoid giving antacids along with Cortimax Suspension. If both need to be given, leave a gap of at least 2 hours between administration of Cortimax Suspension and antacids. Do not give it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.
