Coffar-M Tablet SR is a combination medicine used in the treatment of respiratory tract disorders associated with viscid mucus, providing symptomatic relief of productive cough. Coffar-M Tablet SR may be taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Coffar-M Tablet SR is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose and improves your symptoms.
Does Coffar-M Tablet SR cause dry mouth?
Yes, using Coffar-M Tablet SR may increase the risk of experiencing dry mouth. If you experience dryness in your mouth, drink plenty of water throughout the day and keep some water readily available by your bed at night.
Can I use Coffar-M Tablet SR while breastfeeding?
No, using Coffar-M Tablet SR is not recommended during breastfeeding. Please inform your doctor if you are currently breastfeeding to discuss the best course of action for you and your baby.

- Take it at the same time each day
- preferably in the evening after food
- Do not take it with any fruit juices (such as apple, orange, or grapefruit) as they might make the drug less effective
- It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty in breathing
- Your doctor may take regular blood test to monitor the level of drug in your body
- Notify your doctor if you smoke or have an viral infection. Your dose may need to be adjusted
- Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor even if you feel better

Breastfeed
Coffar-M Tablet SR is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
