Citiclav LB Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat various types of bacterial infections. It fights against microorganisms to prevent their growth and further spread of the infection. Citiclav LB Tablet is a prescription medicine. It is advised to take it as per the prescription. It can be taken with or without food but it must be taken at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Citiclav LB Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Amoxycillin, Clavulanic Acid and Lactobacillus. Amoxycillin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Amoxycillin against bacteria. This treats your infection but may upset your digestive system by killing healthy gut bacteria as well. Lactobacillus is added to restore the balance of healthy bacteria.
What are the contraindications associated with the use of Citiclav LB Tablet?
Citiclav LB Tablet is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergic reactions to any penicillin. It should also be avoided in patients with a previous history of cholestatic jaundice or liver dysfunction associated with the medication.
Which is the best time to take Citiclav LB Tablet?
Citiclav LB Tablet can be taken every 8 hours or every 12 hours, depending on the prescribed dose by your doctor. It should be taken with a meal or snack to minimize the likelihood of stomach upset. Some antibiotics may cause diarrhea. If diarrhea is severe or lasts for more than 2 or 3 days, contact your doctor.
Can I stop Citiclav LB Tablet in between if I feel better?
