Cetrafit M Syrup is a medication used to treat symptoms of allergy, asthma, and skin allergies in children. Cetrafit M Syrup is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies.
Cetrafit M Syrup contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Can I mix cough and allergy medicines for my child? If so, what is the correct dosage?
No. Do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. Mixing these medications can lead to double dosing of active ingredients, which may result in serious side effects.
My child seems to be getting better on Cetrafit M Syrup, should I decrease the dosage by myself?
No, adherence to your child's doctor's prescribed dose is crucial. You should not increase or decrease the dose yourself as it could negatively impact their health. While increasing the dosage may lead to unwanted side effects like sedation and depression, decreasing the dose suddenly might cause a rebound of all symptoms.
How should Cetrafit M Syrup be stored?
Cetrafit M Syrup should be stored at room temperature in a dry place away from direct heat and light. Ensure that all medicines are kept out of reach and sight of children to avoid accidental ingestion.
Does Cetrafit M Syrup make my child sleepy?
Cetrafit M Syrup can cause mild drowsiness, which might lead to sleepiness in your child. However, it should not be given to induce sleep. Forceful sleep might mask any underlying sleep disorder like insomnia.
Can I start Cetrafit M Syrup before my child's sports event?
No, do not start Cetrafit M Syrup without consulting your child's doctor. Moreover, it can hinder their performance due to mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. It is best to talk to the doctor first.
Can I stop Cetrafit M Syrup on my own?
No, sudden withdrawal of Cetrafit M Syrup may lead to a rebound of symptoms if taken for an extended period. It is advisable to discontinue this medicine gradually under your child's doctor's guidance.
Can I give my child Cetrafit M Syrup for mood disorders?
Ceterfit M Syrup can sometimes cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and difficulty controlling body movements. Therefore, it's crucial to consult your child's doctor before administering any medication.
Can I use Cetrafit M Syrup for treating acute asthma attacks in my child?
