Ceflox-Dee Optic Eye/Ear Drops is a medicine used to treat bacterial eye/ear infections. Ceflox-Dee Optic Eye/Ear Drops is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Use it regularly at evenly spaced time intervals or as prescribed by your doctor. You should not discontinue using the medicine unless your doctor tells you so. Stopping the medication before time may allow the bacteria to continue their growth which may result in return of the infection.
Ceflox-Dee Optic Eye/Ear Drops is a combination of three medicines: Ciprofloxacin, Dexamethasone, and Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic that works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. Dexamethasone is a steroid that works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricant that works similar to natural tears and provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness of the eye.
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.
- Use it twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
- Wash your hands first before applying Ceflox-Dee Optic Eye/Ear Drops. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after putting the medication.
- Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
- Along with using Ceflox-Dee Optic Eye/Ear Drops, give warm compress to your eyes to get relief from itching and burning sensation.
- Take care to avoid spreading the infection from one eye to the other and to other members of your family.
