Brotuxx L Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat cough with mucus, thinning mucus in the nose, windpipe, and lungs, and providing relief from runny nose, sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Brotuxx L Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Brotuxx L Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol, and Guaifenesin, which relieves cough with mucus.
What is Brotuxx L Syrup?
Brotuxx L Syrup contains Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol / Levalbuterol, and Guaifenesin. It is used to treat cough with mucus. Ambroxol is a mucolytic, which thins and loosens the mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles to widen them. Guaifenesin acts as an expectorant, decreasing the stickiness of the mucus and helping remove it easily from the airways.
Is Brotuxx L Syrup safe to use?
Brotuxx L Syrup is generally considered safe for most patients. However, some common side effects may occur such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, allergic reactions, dizziness, headache, rash, urticaria, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramp and increased heart rate. If you experience any persistent problems while taking this medicine, inform your doctor.
Are there any specific contraindications for Brotuxx L Syrup?
It is not safe to use Brotuxx L Syrup in patients with a known allergy to any of the active or inactive ingredients. Levosalbutamol and beta-blockers like propranolol should not usually be taken together.
Can Brotuxx L Syrup cause dizziness?
Yes, some patients may experience dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) when taking Brotuxx L Syrup. If you feel dizzy, rest for a while and resume the medication only after feeling better. Avoid driving or using machinery until you fully recover.
Can Brotuxx L Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, some patients may experience diarrhea when taking Brotuxx L Syrup. If this happens, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Consult your doctor if the diarrhea persists and you notice any signs of dehydration like dark-colored and strong-smelling urine with less urination.
What are the recommended storage conditions for Brotuxx L Syrup?
Store Brotuxx L Syrup in its original container or pack, tightly closed. Refer to the instructions on the packaging for details on safe storage. Dispose of any unused medicine properly and keep it away from pets, children, and others.
