Biosr-D Tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (Acid reflux) and indigestion by relieving symptoms such as heartburn, stomach pain, or irritation. Biosr-D Tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (Acid reflux) and indigestion by relieving the symptoms such as heartburn, stomach pain, or irritation. It also neutralizes the acid in the stomach and promotes easy passage of gas to reduce stomach discomfort.
Biosr-D Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Esomeprazole. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines allowing the food to move more easily through the stomach. Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in the relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
What is Biosr-D Tablet?
Biosr-D Tablet is a combination medication containing Domperidone and Esomeprazole. This unique formula is used to treat heartburn, acid reflux (GERD), and gastric/duodenal ulcers. Domperidone helps control vomiting by increasing the movement of food through the stomach.
Is Biosr-D Tablet safe?
Biosr-D Tablet is generally considered safe for most patients. However, like any medication, it may cause common side effects such as diarrhea, stomach pain, flatulence, dry mouth, dizziness, and headaches. If you experience persistent or bothersome side effects, consult your doctor.
When should I take Biosr-D Tablet?
It is recommended to take Biosr-D Tablet before the first meal of the day or on an empty stomach.
Can Biosr-D Tablet cause abnormal heartbeats?
Yes, using Biosr-D Tablet may slightly increase the risk of irregular heartbeat (serious arrhythmias). The chance of this happening is low. Those over 60 years of age are at a slightly higher risk.
What contraindications apply to using Biosr-D Tablet?
Biosr-D Tablet may cause serious harm in patients with known hypersensitivity to rabeprazole or domperidone, or any other inactive ingredients in the medication. Caution is advised for individuals with underlying kidney or liver disease.
Can Biosr-D Tablet cause dry mouth?
Yes, using Biosr-D Tablet can lead to dry mouth. Domperidone is the cause of this side effect. Drinking water regularly throughout the day and keeping a glass of water by your bedside are helpful measures. Avoid alcohol and smoking, use alcohol-free mouthwash if needed.
Can Biosr-D Tablet cause diarrhea?
Yes, using Biosr-D Tablet can lead to diarrhea. Drinking plenty of water or other fluids is helpful in managing this side effect. If the diarrhea persists or you notice signs of dehydration like reduced urination frequency and dark or strong-smelling urine, consult your doctor immediately. Avoid fatty/fried foods when taking this medication.
What are the storage conditions for Biosr-D Tablet?
Keep Biosr-D Tablet in its original container or packaging, tightly sealed. Store it according to the instructions on the medication label. Do not consume any leftover medication and ensure pets, children, and others do not have access to it.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Biosr-D Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
- Take it one hour before the meal preferably in the morning.
- Inform your doctor if you get watery diarrhea, fever or stomach pain that does not go away.
- Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking it for 14 days as you may be suffering from some other problem that needs attention.
- Long-term use can cause weak bones and deficiency of minerals such as magnesium. Take adequate dietary intake of calcium and magnesium or their supplements as prescribed by your doctor.
