B-Folcin Gel is a pain-relieving medicine used to relieve pain, discomfort, and inflammation caused by mouth ulcers, cold sores, dentures, and sore spots due to orthodontic devices. B-Folcin Gel is for local application only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying it on the affected area. Please consult your doctor if your symptoms do not get better. It should not be taken by patients who are allergic to it or are less than 16 years of age. It should not be applied to open wounds. Burning sensation and application site reactions might be seen as side effects in some patients.
B-Folcin Gel is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that relieves mouth sores. It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) which cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) in the mouth.
How should I use B-Folcin Gel to treat mouth ulcers?
To use B-Folcin Gel effectively, apply a thin layer of the gel directly to the affected area in your mouth using a cotton swab. Be sure to avoid rubbing or irritating the ulcerated area.
Is it safe to swallow B-Folcin Gel?
No, you should not swallow B-Folcin Gel. Instead, apply the gel directly to the affected area in your mouth as instructed.
How long does it take for B-Folcin Gel to start working on my ulcers?
You may notice an improvement in your symptoms within 7 days of using B-Folcin Gel. However, the exact duration and dose of treatment will be determined by your doctor based on your individual condition.
Can I wear dentures while applying B-Folcin Gel?
It is recommended to wait at least 30 minutes after applying B-Folcin Gel before reinserting your dentures. This will allow the gel to take effect and minimize potential irritation.
Which foods should I avoid while using B-Folcin Gel to manage mouth ulcers?
To alleviate discomfort, it is advisable to steer clear of spicy, acidic, or salty foods that may exacerbate pain or sting sensations in the affected area.
What precautions should I take while using B-Folcin Gel?
When using B-Folcin Gel, be sure to use a soft toothbrush and avoid eating or drinking immediately afterward. Also, refrain from reinserting dentures or braces for at least half an hour after applying the gel, and consider quitting smoking altogether.
What are some potential causes of mouth ulcers?
While there is no single definitive cause of mouth ulcers, various factors can contribute to their development. These may include biting the inside of your mouth, sensitivity to acidic foods or other substances, nutritional deficiencies (such as B-12, zinc, folate, or iron), dental braces, using a toothbrush with hard bristles, and certain medications.
Check the label for directions before use. Gently apply the gel to the affected area inside your mouth. Refrain from eating or drinking immediately after applying the gel.
