Azom 1gm Injection is an antibiotic used to prevent or treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. Azom 1gm Injection is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or a muscle under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.
Azom 1gm Injection is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.
Can individuals with penicillin allergies safely use Azom 1gm Injection?
Yes, Azom 1gm Injection is generally safe for individuals with penicillin allergies. Studies indicate minimal cross-reactivity with this medication in patients with confirmed penicillin allergies.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self-administer.
- You have been prescribed Azom 1gm Injection for the treatment of bacterial infections.
- Finish the prescribed course even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
- Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
- Inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.

Alcohol
Consuming alcohol with Azom 1gm Injection does not cause any harmful side effects.
Breastfeed
Azom 1gm Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Pregnancy
Azom 1gm Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
