Alpink 50mg Tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, helping men to get or maintain an erection. Alpink 50mg Tablet may be taken on an empty stomach or with a meal. It should be strictly taken as advised by your doctor. You should take about 1 hour before you plan to have sex. This medicine will only help you to get an erection if you are sexually stimulated. However, you should not take this medicine if you do not have erectile dysfunction. However, if these medicines are to be taken together then it is advised to keep a time gap of at least 24 hours between the intake of Alpink 50mg Tablet and blood pressure-lowering medicines.
Why does Alpink 50mg Tablet cause a fall in blood pressure (hypotension)?
Alpink 50mg Tablet has the property of relaxing the smooth muscle of the blood vessels and widening them which can cause a fall in blood pressure (hypotension). So, when used with blood pressure-lowering medicines or nitrates, it can cause a severe fall in blood pressure, which could be fatal. Alpink 50mg Tablet should not be taken if you are taking nitrates for chest pain or you have a history of heart attack or stroke in the past 6 months.
