Alkasit 1.37gm/5ml Syrup is a medicine used to treat gout and kidney stones by stopping the production of uric acid in the body and reducing the episodes of gout attacks and preventing kidney stones. Alkasit 1.37gm/5ml Syrup can be taken with or without food to prevent stomach upset. Take it regularly and do not stop taking the medicine even if you get better until your doctor tells you it is alright to stop. The most common side effect of this medicine is stomach pain. It may also cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, frequent urge to urinate, and tiredness.
Alkasit 1.37gm/5ml Syrup is a urine alkalizer. It works by increasing the pH of urine which makes it less acidic. This helps the kidneys get rid of excess uric acid thereby preventing gout and certain types of kidney stones.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Alkasit 1.37gm/5ml Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
