Albucel 20% Infusion is used to treat blood volume loss by replacing the body fluids lost due to excessive trauma, bleeding, surgery, or kidney dialysis. Albucel 20% Infusion must be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional. You should not take it if you have any known allergies to this injection. Before taking it, inform the doctor you are suffering from any severe heart disease. Your doctor may check your blood pressure and ask you to get regular blood tests done while you are using this injection. The most common side effects include flushing, nausea, vomiting, chills, and fever. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Let your doctor also know if you have any kidney diseases as a dose adjustment may be required. This injection is safe to use in patients suffering from liver diseases.
Albucel 20% Infusion contains human albumin, a natural protein in blood. It works by replacing the blood or body fluids lost due to excessive bleeding, surgery, or kidney dialysis.
What information should you provide your doctor before receiving Albucel 20% Infusion?
Before receiving this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to albumin preparations or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. Suspicion of allergic or anaphylactic type reactions requires immediate discontinuation of the infusion.
What vital signs should be monitored before administering Albucel 20% Infusion?
Before administering this injection, your doctor or nurse will measure your blood pressure and heart rate. They may also conduct blood tests to ensure you are not given an excess dose. If you experience a headache, difficulty breathing, or increased blood pressure, inform your doctor immediately.
How is Albucel 20% Infusion administered?
This medicine must be administered intravenously at a rate not to exceed 1 mL/min to patients with normal blood volume, due to the risk of developing circulatory overload and pulmonary edema (excess fluid in lungs).

- Inform your doctor immediately if you experience a skin rash, itching, breathing difficulties, swelling of face and changes in heartbeat while using this medicine.
- Inform your doctor if you have history of severe anemia (lack of red blood cells) or severe heart failure.
