Accurex Accu-Stix Test Strip is a semi-quantitative test strip used for estimating glucose and protein in urine. Accu-Stix is a test strip used for semi-quantitative estimation of glucose and protein in urine. The test strip uses the principle of glucose oxidase/peroxidase and protein-error-of-indicator to provide results within 30 seconds.
The test strip uses glucose oxidase to convert urine glucose to gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide, which is then converted to water and nascent oxygen by peroxidase. The nascent oxygen liberates iodine from potassium iodide to produce colours ranging from green to brown.
Collect fresh, well-mixed, uncentrifuged urine in a clean and dry container.Remove one strip from the bottle and replace cap immediately.Dip the areas into urine for 1 to 2 seconds.Match the reagent areas near the appropriate colour chart provided on the bottle label.Read the results at 30 seconds for glucose and immediately for protein
