Zocef-CV Dry Syrup is a potent antibiotic that effectively treats bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, soft tissues, bones, joints, abdomen, and urinary tract in children. It also prevents infection after surgeries and animal or human bite wounds.
Zocef-CV Dry Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid. Cefuroxime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate Cefuroxime. Addition of Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefuroxime against bacteria.

Can Zocef-CV Dry Syrup impact my child's digestion?
Antibiotics kill the infection-causing bacteria, but while doing this they may affect the good bacteria present in the gastrointestinal tract. In case your child is having diarrhea while on Zocef-CV Dry Syrup, do not stop the medicine course. Instead, call your child's doctor to ask about the next steps. In some cases, the doctor may alter the dose.
Complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
