Zeedopa Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Levodopa and Carbidopa which treats Parkinsonism. Levodopa is a dopamine precursor which gets converted to dopamine, a chemical messenger that controls movement in the brain. Carbidopa is a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor which prevents breakdown of levodopa allowing it to enter the brain and increase dopamine levels.
What is Zeedopa Tablet?
Zeedopa Tablet contains two active ingredients: Levodopa and Carbidopa. This medication is used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, such as tremors (shaking), stiffness, and slowness of movement. These symptoms are caused by a lack of dopamine, a natural substance found in the brain. Levodopa works by being converted to dopamine in the brain. Carbidopa helps prevent levodopa from being broken down before it reaches the brain. By increasing the amount of dopamine in the brain, Zeedopa Tablet helps control Parkinson's disease symptoms and improve daily activities such as dressing, walking, handling utensils, etc.
Can I stop taking Zeedopa Tablet when my symptoms are relieved?
No. You should continue to take Zeedopa Tablet, even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Zeedopa Tablet without first talking to your doctor. Stopping abruptly can lead to a serious problem including fever, rigid muscles, unusual body movements and confusion. If your symptoms improve after starting the medication, consult your doctor. He might decrease your dose gradually.
Can Zeedopa Tablet cause sleepiness or drowsiness?
Zeedopa Tablet may make you drowsy or cause sudden falling asleep during daily activities. You may not notice any warning signs before suddenly falling asleep. Before starting Zeedopa, avoid driving a car, operating machinery, working at heights, or participating in potentially dangerous activities as the medication's effects are not fully known yet. If you experience sudden sleepiness, especially during daytime, contact your doctor.
Can Zeedopa Tablet cause dark urine?
Yes. A rare side effect is a change in urine color (red, brown or black). This color change is harmless and may stain clothing but does not pose any health risks.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zeedopa Tablet is to be taken empty stomach. Avoid Zeedopa Tablet with high protein meals such as cottage cheese, Swiss cheese, protein powder, eggs and milk.
- You have been prescribed Zeedopa Tablet to treat your symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
- Reduce/avoid a high-protein diet (e.g. meat, poultry, and dairy products) while you are taking the medicine as it can reduce the amount of medication absorbed by your body.
- Be cautious while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Zeedopa Tablet can make you very sleepy.
- When you start the medication, get out of bed slowly as the medication may cause dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting.
- Do not stop taking the medication without talking to your doctor. It may result in a serious syndrome that causes fever, stiff muscles, unusual body movements, sweating, and confusion.
- Talk to your doctor in case you develop hallucinations or other changes in your behavior.
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Zeedopa Tablet.
Breastfeed
Zeedopa Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Partial to complete suppression of lactation was seen in mothers on the treatment with Zeedopa Tablet, but when the treatment was stopped, lactation returned to normal levels.
Pregnancy
Zeedopa Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
