What is Xpect-LS Expectorant?
Xpect-LS Expectorant is a combination of three medications: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol / Levalbuterol, and Guaifenesin. It is used for treating cough with mucus. Ambroxol is a mucolytic, which thins and loosens the mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. Levosalbutamol acts as a bronchodilator, relaxing airway muscles to widen airways. Guaifenesin works as an expectorant, decreasing the stickiness of mucus and facilitating its removal from the airways.
Is Xpect-LS Expectorant safe to use?
Yes, Xpect-LS Expectorant is generally considered safe for most patients. However, some common side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, allergic reactions, dizziness, headache, rash, urticaria (hives), tremor, palpitations, muscle cramps, and increased heart rate may occur. Inform your doctor if you experience persistent problems while taking this medication.

Xpect-LS Expectorant is not recommended in patients with a history of allergy to any of the active or inactive ingredients. Levosalbutamol and beta-blockers like propranolol should not usually be taken together.

- It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.
- If you are diabetic, monitor your blood glucose regularly while taking this medicine.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of thyroid or heart disease.
- Stop taking Xpect-LS Expectorant and inform your doctor if your cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache.
