Xarostat-F Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. Xarostat-F Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Fenofibrate and Rosuvastatin. It is used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (eg. low-fat diet) on their own have failed. This medicine helps to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood.Rosuvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL).Both raise the levels of 'good' cholesterol (HDL)
Can the use of Xarostat-F Tablet cause liver damage?
Xarostat-F Tablet contains Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. Although rare (1 in 10,000 patients), liver damage is a potential side effect. Patients with underlying liver disease should avoid using this medicine. If you experience early signs and symptoms of liver damage, such as fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal liver enzymes, contact your doctor immediately.
Can the use of Xarostat-F Tablet cause muscle pain?
Yes, Xarostat-F Tablet may cause muscle pain due to muscle injury. However, this side effect is not experienced by everyone. If you are experiencing symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness, consult your doctor as soon as possible.
What lifestyle changes should I adopt while taking Xarostat-F Tablet?

What are the instructions for the storage and disposal of Xarostat-F Tablet?
Store Xarostat-F Tablet in its original packet or container, tightly closed. Follow the storage instructions provided on the pack or label. Dispose of unused medicine properly to prevent accidental consumption by pets, children, and other individuals.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.Swallow it as a whole.Do not chew, crush or break it.Xarostat-F Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time
- Notify your doctor if you experience muscle symptoms (pain or weakness) particularly if accompanied with fever
- Notify your doctor if you experience stomach pain, loss of hunger, a sick feeling or dark urine
- Do not discontinue Xarostat-F Tablet without consulting your doctor even if you feel better
- Avoid alcohol consumption (includes wine, beer, and liquor)
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Xarostat-F Tablet.
Breastfeed
Xarostat-F Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Xarostat-F Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
