Xarostat-F Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. Xarostat-F Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Fenofibrate and Rosuvastatin. It is used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (eg. low-fat diet) on their own have failed. This medicine helps to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood.Rosuvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL).Both raise the levels of 'good' cholesterol (HDL)
Can the use of Xarostat-F Tablet cause liver damage?
Xarostat-F Tablet contains Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. Although rare (1 in 10,000 patients), liver damage is a potential side effect. Patients with underlying liver disease should avoid using this medicine. If you experience early signs and symptoms of liver damage, such as fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal liver enzymes, contact your doctor immediately.
Can the use of Xarostat-F Tablet cause muscle pain?
Yes, Xarostat-F Tablet may cause muscle pain due to muscle injury. However, this side effect is not experienced by everyone. If you are experiencing symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness, consult your doctor as soon as possible.
