Tsecyp Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat loss of appetite. It is an effective appetite stimulant. Tsecyp Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Tsecyp Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate and sorbitol which revives appetite. Cyproheptadine is an appetite-stimulant. It works by reducing the effect of a chemical messenger (serotonin) in the hypothalamus a part of the brain which regulates appetite. Tricholine citrate is a bile acid binding agent which removes bile acids from the body. The liver then produces more bile acids using cholesterol as a result of which cholesterol level is lowered. Sorbitol acts as a syrup base and also as an osmotic laxative to relieve constipation.
Can Tsecyp Syrup cause dryness in mouth?
Yes, Tsecyp Syrup may cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips throughout the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.
Can Tsecyp Syrup cause dizziness?
Yes, Tsecyp Syrup can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is best to rest for some time and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or operate machinery until you feel completely normal.
What is the recommended storage condition for Tsecyp Syrup?
Keep this medicine in its original container, tightly closed. Store according to the instructions on the packaging label. Dispose of unused medicine. Ensure it is not consumed by pets, children, or other people.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Tsecyp Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
