Truelabetol 20mg Injection is an alpha and beta blocker used in the urgent treatment of hypertensive emergency (severely increased blood pressure) and severe hypertension in pregnancy. It works by slowing down the heart rate and relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self-administer.
Truelabetol 20mg Injection is an alpha and beta blocker. It works by slowing down the heart rate and relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
It is given as an injection into veins or as drip under the supervision of a medical professional. Check your blood pressure 1 week after starting Truelabetol 20mg Injection and inform your doctor if it has not improved. It may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. It may cause you to feel lightheaded or weak especially when you stand up (orthostatic hypotension). Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while taking Truelabetol 20mg Injection as it may make the side effects worse. Do not stop taking Truelabetol 20mg Injection suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise suddenly thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Truelabetol 20mg Injection is generally considered a safe medicine when used as directed by the doctor. However, side effects may occur during the first few weeks of treatment and usually disappear with time.
Truelabetol 20mg Injection may be prescribed to treat high blood pressure in pregnancy, which can increase the risk of certain birth defects, stillbirth, reduced growth of the baby, and premature birth. Your doctor will help you decide if treatment with Truelabetol 20mg Injection is right for you and your baby.
Itchy skin, a rash or tingly scalp are common side effects of Truelabetol 20mg Injection. If the itchiness or rash worsens or lasts longer than a week, speak to your doctor.
Diabetic patients using Truelabetol 20mg Injection should regularly check their blood sugar levels as the medicine may make it difficult to recognize warning signs of low blood sugar. Consult your doctor if blood sugar levels are reduced while taking Truelabetol 20mg Injection.
Truelabetol 20mg Injection slows down heart rate and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body. Your doctor may regularly check your blood pressure and pulse (heart rate) during therapy.
