Telrandil 10 Tablet is a medicine used to prevent and treat heart-related chest pain (angina). It is usually prescribed when other heart medicines are either not suitable or have not worked. Telrandil 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food. It should be swallowed whole with water. Take this medicine regularly and at about the same time(s) each day. Your doctor will decide the dose and how often you should take it. This may change from time to time depending on how well it is working. Do not stop taking it without talking to our doctor as sudden withdrawal may cause your chest pain to come back. You can improve the health of your heart by making some lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, cutting down on alcohol, eating well, exercising regularly, and managing stress.
Telrandil 10 Tablet is a vasodilator. It works by reducing the workload of the heart. As a result, heart muscle does not need as much blood and oxygen supply. It also relaxes coronary artery (that carries blood to heart). This reduces the frequency and severity of angina attacks.
What class of drug is Telrandil 10 Tablet and what is it used for?
Telrandil 10 Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called potassium channel openers. It causes widening of the arteries, which decreases the workload of the heart to pump blood. This also improves blood and oxygen supply to your heart muscle. Telrandil 10 Tablet is prescribed for patients with stable angina (chest pain related to heart issues) who cannot take other common medications (beta-blockers or calcium channel antagonists) meant for angina.
Can I stop taking Telrandil 10 Tablet?
No, you must not stop taking Telrandil 10 Tablet without speaking to your doctor first. If you stop the medication suddenly, your chest pain may return. Consult your doctor if you are experiencing any side effects.
How long does it take Telrandil 10 Tablet to start working?
Telrandil 10 Tablet starts working within about an hour of taking the medication, but full benefits may be seen only after 4 to 5 days.
For how long do I need to continue Telrandil 10 Tablet?

Can I take Telrandil 10 Tablet if I am taking aspirin?
You should avoid combining Telrandil 10 Tablet and aspirin together. Taking these medications simultaneously increases the risk of ulcers or bleeding in your mouth, stomach, or intestine. Seek immediate consultation from your doctor if you notice blood in your stool or vomit while using Telrandil 10 Tablet.
Who should not use Telrandil 10 Tablet?
People allergic to Telrandil 10 Tablet or any of its ingredients must avoid this medication. Patients with heart problems such as cardiogenic shock, left ventricular failure with low filling pressure, cardiac decompensation, or a buildup of fluid in the lungs (pulmonary edema) should not use Telrandil 10 Tablet. Additionally, patients taking medicines to treat erectile dysfunction (e.g., sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil) or medications to treat pulmonary hypertension (e.g., riociguat) should not use the medication. Your blood pressure may be affected if these medicines are taken with Telrandil 10 Tablet or if you have low blood volume.
Can Telrandil 10 Tablet affect my sex life?
No, Telrandil 10 Tablet does not affect your sex life. However, it is not recommended to combine medicines used for erectile dysfunction (e.g., sildenafil or tadalafil) or premature ejaculation (e.g., vardenafil or dapoxetine) while taking Telrandil 10 Tablet. Combining these medications may lead to a sudden and significant drop in your blood pressure.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Telrandil 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

- Do not consume alcohol while taking Telrandil 10 Tablet as that may cause increased dizziness.
- Do not take medications like sildenafil or tadalafil (prescribed for erectile dysfunction) while on treatment with Telrandil 10 Tablet as it may cause low blood pressure.
- Inform your doctor if you notice any bleeding from the anal passage, blood in vomit or black stools.

Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Telrandil 10 Tablet.
Breastfeed
Telrandil 10 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Telrandil 10 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
