Synx Tablet ER is used for the management of angina (heart-related chest pain). It helps to prevent new attacks of angina but does not stop an acute attack, once started. It relieves chest pain by making the heart work more efficiently. Synx Tablet ER should be taken in the dose as advised by your doctor at the same time each day. It should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. Your doctor will decide how often you should take this medicine. This may change from time to time depending on how well it is working. You should take this medicine regularly to get the most benefit even if you feel fine. It is preventing future harm. If you stop taking it your chest pain may come back. You can improve the health of your heart by making some lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, cutting down on alcohol, eating well, taking regular exercise, and managing stress. Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, constipation, and weakness. Talk to your doctor if these bother you or do not go away. Synx Tablet ER may not be suitable for some people. Tell your doctor if you are suffering from any liver or kidney problems. Also let your doctor know all other medications you are using as some may affect or be affected by this medicine. This medicine is not usually recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Synx Tablet ER is an anti-anginal medication. It works by decreasing the oxygen requirement of the heart by relaxing heart muscle.
What are the serious side effects of Synx Tablet ER?
Synx Tablet ER may cause changes in the electrical activity of the heart, known as QT prolongation. Your doctor may conduct regular tests to monitor your heart's electrical activity. If you experience symptoms such as fainting, lightheadedness, or irregular heartbeat, inform your doctor immediately. Additionally, Synx Tablet ER may cause kidney failure in patients with pre-existing kidney problems, and your doctor may need to perform tests to assess your kidney function.
I've noticed my urine has become very dark after taking Synx Tablet ER. Is this a cause for concern?
Urine discoloration is a possible side effect of Synx Tablet ER. If you're not experiencing any other symptoms, you don't need to worry. However, if you're concerned, consult your doctor for further guidance.
What will happen if I accidentally take an excessive dose of Synx Tablet ER?
Taking an excessive dose of Synx Tablet ER can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, double vision, fatigue, severe tremors, confusion, hallucinations, difficulty speaking and walking, and even fainting. If you've taken an accidental overdose, contact your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention at a nearby hospital.
Is it safe to take Synx Tablet ER with metoprolol?
Yes, it is safe to take Synx Tablet ER and metoprolol together. Synx Tablet ER has a minimal effect on blood pressure in patients with angina.
I'm a diabetic taking metformin. Is it safe to take Synx Tablet ER with it?
When taking metformin with Synx Tablet ER, you should be cautious as Synx Tablet ER may increase metformin levels in the body, potentially leading to metformin toxicity. Consult your doctor, who will modify the metformin dose as necessary.
I'm taking simvastatin to manage my cholesterol levels. Can I take Synx Tablet ER with it?
It is not recommended to take simvastatin and Synx Tablet ER together, as it may cause simvastatin toxicity, leading to symptoms such as muscle weakness and soreness, fatigue, decreased urination, etc. Inform your doctor that you're already taking simvastatin. If necessary, take it exactly as advised by your doctor.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Synx Tablet ER is to be taken with food.
- It should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset.
- It improves HbA1c and blood sugar levels in diabetes patients.
- It may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
- Notify your doctor if you are taking any other medications along with Synx Tablet ER
- It may produce changes in the ECG (QTc interval prolongation). It is recommended to get an ECG done within 1 to 2 weeks of starting the medication.
