Subospas 20mg/250mg Tablet is a prescription medicine that helps to provide symptomatic relief from menstrual (period-related) pain and cramps, and also used to treat abdominal pain by relieving spasms of the muscles in the stomach and intestines. Subospas 20mg/250mg Tablet should be taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. The dose and duration will depend on what you are using it for and how well it helps your symptoms. Use it regularly and do not discontinue using it until the doctor tells you. It may cause some common side effects like dizziness, dryness in the mouth, blurred vision, nausea, and sleepiness. If you experience any of such side effects that do not go away or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the side effects. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms.
Subospas 20mg/250mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Dicyclomine and Mefenamic Acid. Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic which works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms) thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause abdominal pain and inflammation (swelling). Together, they relieve menstrual cramps and stomach cramps.
Can Subospas 20mg/250mg Tablet be taken with food?
It is recommended to take Subospas 20mg/250mg Tablet with or after a meal as this medicine may cause stomach upset.
Can Subospas 20mg/250mg Tablet stop menstruation?
Subospas 20mg/250mg Tablet does not affect menstrual bleeding. It is not a contraceptive and will not alter the amount, duration, or frequency of periods.
