Silverpin Cream is a combination medicine used to treat burn wounds, preventing infections and protecting the skin to speed up the healing process. Silverpin Cream is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. A thin layer of the medicine should be applied only to the affected areas of the skin with clean and dry hands. Wash your hands before and after applying the medicine. If it gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina, rinse with water. It may take several days to weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should keep using this medicine regularly. The course of the treatment should be completed to ensure better efficacy of the medicine. If your condition does not improve or gets worse, you should talk to your doctor.
Silverpin Cream is a combination of two medicines: Sulfadiazine and Chlorhexidine Gluconate. Sulfadiazine is an antibiotic that stops bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic and disinfectant that works by binding strongly with skin, killing infectious microorganisms and effectively cleaning out cuts, wounds, and burns to prevent them from getting infected.
Can I stop taking Silverpin Cream when I feel better?
No, do not stop taking Silverpin Cream and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
How long does Silverpin Cream take to work?
Silverpin Cream typically starts working shortly after use. However, it may require several days for it to fully eliminate harmful bacteria and provide relief from symptoms.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying unless hands are the affected area.
- Clean the burn area and then apply the cream using a sterile gloved hand or a sterile spatula
- Apply it once or twice daily and re-apply to any areas from which it gets removed due to activity
- Burn areas should be covered with the cream at all times
- Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth
- Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas
- Minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied
