Sevabind 400mg Tablet is primarily used to manage elevated phosphate levels in the blood, a condition often seen in patients with severe kidney disease who are on dialysis. The medication works by inhibiting the absorption of phosphate from the intestine, thereby lowering phosphate levels in the blood. While effective, it may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, and abdominal pain. Patients should inform their doctor if they experience any of these symptoms or have undergone major stomach surgery. It is crucial to take this medication with food and adhere to the prescribed diet. Additionally, patients may develop low levels of calcium, folic acid, and vitamins A, D, E, and K, for which supplements may be prescribed.
