How it works

Saltopic Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Betamethasone and Salicylic Acid. Betamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine which breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Betamethasone into the skin.

Direction of use

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment.

Tips

• Apply it once a day
• Leave it on during the day if applied in the morning or overnight if applied in the evening
• Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily or as advised by your doctor
• Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor
• If you are using a moisturizer along with this preparation, apply the moisturizer first and wait 10-15 minutes before applying Saltopic Ointment
