It is used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (eg. low-fat diet) on their own have failed. This medicine helps to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Rozavel F 20 Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Fenofibrate and Rosuvastatin. Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood while Rosuvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL). Both raise the levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).
Can the use of Rozavel F 20 Tablet cause liver damage?
Rozavel F 20 Tablet contains Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. Very rarely (1 in 10,000 patients), liver damage can occur as a side effect. Patients with pre-existing liver disease should avoid using this medication. Report any early symptoms of liver problems such as fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), or abnormal liver enzymes to your doctor immediately.
