It is used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (eg. low-fat diet) on their own have failed. This medicine helps to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Roliptin F 160mg/5mg Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Fenofibrate and Rosuvastatin. Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood while Rosuvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL). Both raise the levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).
Can the use of Roliptin F 160mg/5mg Tablet cause liver damage?
Roliptin F 160mg/5mg Tablet contains Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. Although very rare (1 in 10,000 patients), liver damage can occur as a side effect. Patients with existing liver disease should avoid using this medication. If you experience early signs of potential liver damage such as fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal liver enzyme levels, consult your doctor immediately.
