It is used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (eg. low-fat diet) on their own have failed. This medicine helps to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Rokard F 160mg/5mg Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Fenofibrate and Rosuvastatin. Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood while Rosuvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL). Both raise the levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).
Can Rokard F 160mg/5mg Tablet cause liver damage?
Rokard F 160mg/5mg Tablet contains Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. A rare side effect of this medicine is liver damage, occurring in about 1 in 10,000 patients. Patients with underlying liver disease should avoid using this medication. If you experience any early signs or symptoms of liver damage, such as fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal liver enzymes, contact your doctor immediately.
