Ripatec T Eye Drop is a combination of ripasudil and timolol. Ripasudil has high intraocular permeability and works by reducing intraocular pressure and enhancing flow facility resulting in a decrease in the elevated fluid pressure in the eyes. Timolol is a beta blocker that works by decreasing the production of aqueous humor (fluid in the eye) thereby lowering the increased eye pressure.
Wash your hands before using the eye drops and take care to avoid getting the product into your mouth. Apply this medicine in a way so as not to touch the eye directly with the eyedropper tip. If you normally wear contact lenses please wear your spectacles instead until your doctor advises that it is suitable for you to wear the lenses again. If you are using any other eye drops or eye ointments wait 5-10 minutes between applying each one. If you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. If you are using this medicine, it is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.
Always wash your hands before (and after) using Ripatec T Eye Drop. This prevents you from passing the infection from one eye to the other. Remove the cap just before using your medicine and replace it as soon as you have finished. Avoid touching the nozzle of the bottle with your fingers. Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid with a clean finger. Hold the bottle over the eye and allow a single drop to fall into the space between your lower lid and your eye. Close your eye and gently press your finger over the inside corner of the eye (over the eyelid) for about a minute. This helps prevent the drop from draining out of the eye. Repeat in your other eye if your doctor has told you to do this.
Ideally, you should use one drop in each eye, twice a day or as prescribed by your doctor.
When using the medication for the first time, it can make your eyes watery and may also cause temporary blurry vision. If this happens, it will clear quickly. Make sure you can see clearly again before you drive or use tools or machines.
Although rare, headache is one of the possible side effects of Ripatec T Eye Drop. You may ask your doctor to recommend a suitable painkiller. If the headache continues, consult with the doctor.
You should contact your doctor immediately if you develop swelling in the eyelids, eye pain, dry eye(s), foreign body sensation in the eyes, headache, and discharge from the eyes. Also, inform them if you had or have any scheduled eye surgery.
If you usually wear contact lenses, do not wear them while using Ripatec T Eye Drop. You can re-insert the lenses 15 minutes after using Ripatec T Eye Drop. Contact your doctor if there is any eye irritation that persists.
Always consult your doctor before using any other eye drops along with Ripatec T Eye Drop. It is advisable to give a gap of at least 10-15 minutes between the two medications.
Use of Ripatec T Eye Drop should be avoided in patients who are allergic to it or any of its components. However, if you are not aware of any allergy, or if you are using this medicine for the first time, consult your doctor.
