Rifazyle 200mg Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat infectious diarrhea. Rifazyle 200mg Tablet can be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Take it at the same time each day to get the most benefit and you should keep on taking this medicine for as long as you are prescribed. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat.
Rifazyle 200mg Tablet is an antibiotic. Rifazyle 200mg Tablet inhibits the bacteria's ability to make proteins and stops the growth of bacteria that cause infectious diarrhea.
How long should you take Rifazole 200mg Tablet?
The duration for which you may need to take Rifazole 200mg Tablet will depend on your individual condition. If it is prescribed for treatment of traveler's diarrhea, it is usually given for 3 days. When given for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), the typical duration is 14 days.
Does Rifazole 200mg Tablet cure IBS?
Taking Rifazole 200mg Tablet can help manage symptoms and prevent recurrent episodes of IBS. However, its ability to fully cure the disease is not yet established. How long does it take for Rifazole 200mg Tablet to work for IBS?

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rifazyle 200mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- You have been prescribed Rifazyle 200mg Tablet for the treatment of infectious diarrhea.
- It should only be taken for a maximum of three days. If your symptoms do not improve after three days, inform your doctor. Do not take a second course of Rifazyle 200mg Tablet.
- It may cause reddish discoloration of urine. This is normal and harmless.
- Stop taking Rifazyle 200mg Tablet and inform your doctor if your diarrhoea gets worse or starts to contain blood or mucus.
- Finish the full course of the medication even if you feel better. Stopping the course early increases the risk of coming back of the infection.
Alcohol
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Rifazyle 200mg Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
Rifazyle 200mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Pregnancy
Rifazyle 200mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
