Rifavib 200 Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat infectious diarrhea. Rifavib 200 Tablet can be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Take it at the same time each day to get the most benefit and you should keep on taking this medicine for as long as you are prescribed. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat.
Rifavib 200 Tablet is an antibiotic. Rifavib 200 Tablet inhibits the bacteria's ability to make proteins and stops the growth of bacteria that cause infectious diarrhea.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rifavib 200 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- You have been prescribed Rifavib 200 Tablet for the treatment of infectious diarrhea.
- It should only be taken for a maximum of three days. If your symptoms do not improve after three days inform your doctor. Do not take a second course of Rifavib 200 Tablet.
- It may cause reddish discoloration of urine. This is normal and harmless.
- Stop taking Rifavib 200 Tablet and inform your doctor if your diarrhoea gets worse or starts to contain blood or mucus.
- Finish the full course of the medication even if you feel better. Stopping the course early increases the risk of coming back of the infection.

Alcohol
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Rifavib 200 Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
Rifavib 200 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Pregnancy
Rifavib 200 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
