Ridgecuf LS Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat cough with mucus, thinning mucus in the nose, windpipe, and lungs, and providing relief from runny nose, sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Ridgecuf LS Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Ridgecuf LS Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol, and Guaifenesin, which relieves cough with mucus.
What is Ridgecuf LS Syrup?
Ridgecuf LS Syrup contains Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol / Levalbuterol, and Guaifenesin. It is used to treat cough with phlegm ( mucus). Ambroxol works by thinning and loosening the mucus making it easier to cough out. Levosalbutamol relaxes the muscles of the airways and widens them. Guaifenesin decreases the stickiness of mucus and helps remove it from the airways.
Is Ridgecuf LS Syrup safe to use?
Ridgecuf LS Syrup is generally safe for most patients. However, some side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, allergic reactions, dizziness, headache, rash, urticaria, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramps, and increased heart rate may occur. If you experience any persistent problems while taking this medication, inform your doctor immediately.
Are there any specific contraindications for using Ridgecuf LS Syrup?
Ridgecuf LS Syrup is not recommended in patients with a history of allergy to any of the active or inactive ingredients. Levosalbutamol and beta-blockers like propranolol should not usually be taken together.
Can the use of Ridgecuf LS Syrup cause dizziness?
Yes, Ridgecuf LS Syrup may cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you experience dizziness, rest for a while and resume only when feeling better. Do not drive or operate machinery until you feel well.
Can the use of Ridgecuf LS Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Ridgecuf LS Syrup can cause diarrhea. In case you experience diarrhea, drink plenty of water or other fluids. If the diarrhea persists and you notice signs of dehydration like less urination with dark-colored, strong-smelling urine, talk to your doctor. Do not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor.
What are the recommended storage conditions for Ridgecuf LS Syrup?
Keep this medication in the original container or pack, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions on the label and ensure proper disposal of unused medicine. Make sure this medication is not consumed by pets, children, or other individuals.
