Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems. It is used to treat deficiency of vitamin B12 in the body. Vitamin B12 is important for growth, cell reproduction, blood formation, and protein and tissue synthesis. It also helps to treat anemia, fatigue, and numbness or tingling in the hands and feet.

What is Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection?
Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient necessary for the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also helps release energy from food, and works with vitamin B11 (folate).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from animal sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, people who are vegetarian or vegan may not get enough Vitamin B12 because it is not naturally found in plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, and grains. Consequently, deficiency of Vitamin B12 is more common in vegetarians or vegans.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency may lead to symptoms like fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become enlarged). It can also cause nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other possible symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection safe?
Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash have been reported. If you experience a rash, discontinue taking the medication immediately.
How should Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection be given?
Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection can be administered via intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection. The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection), and it should be administered 3 times per week. After two months, a single dose (0.5 mg of Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection) every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken while administering Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection?
Avoid injecting at the same site each time. If you experience intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different location.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
Alcohol
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Recob Plus 2500mcg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
