What bacteria does Rebrex Eye Ointment kill?
Rebrex Eye Ointment is effective against a wide range of bacteria. However, it should be used only against susceptible bacteria. The following bacteria can be killed by Rebrex Eye Ointment: S. Aureus and S. epidermidis, some species of Streptococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Proteus mirabilis, Morganella morganii, most Proteus vulgaris strains, Haemophilus influenza, and H. aegyptius, Moraxella lacunata, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, and some Neisseria species. Please consult your doctor to determine if this medicine is suitable for your specific condition.
How long should I use Rebrex Eye Ointment?
Your doctor will determine the duration of treatment based on the severity of your infection. For mild to moderate infections, your doctor may recommend using Rebrex Eye Ointment 1-2 times daily for 1-2 days. However, severe infections may require more frequent use, with 2 drops every hour if necessary. It is important not to exceed or deviate from the prescribed dosage and usage duration by your doctor.
How should Rebrex Eye Ointment be used?
Before using Rebrex Eye Ointment, wash your hands thoroughly. Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eyes or any other surface. Tilt your head slightly and instill one drop into your eye. Close your eye for 2-3 minutes while keeping your head tilted down, avoid blinking or squinting. Gently press your finger to the inside corner of your eye for approximately 1 minute to prevent any liquid from draining into your tear duct. If you need to use more than one drop, wait at least 5 minutes between drops. Wait at least 10 minutes before applying any other prescribed eye drops.
What if I don't get better after using Rebrex Eye Ointment?
If you do not experience improvement after completing the full course of treatment, inform your doctor immediately. Also, inform your doctor if your symptoms are worsening while using this medicine.
Can I stop using Rebrex Eye Ointment when I feel better?
No, do not discontinue using Rebrex Eye Ointment without consulting your doctor. Even if you start to feel better, continue the treatment for the prescribed duration as this may help in complete recovery.
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.
