Introduction
Racinec-SB Sachet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Empty the granules in a glass of water/milk, stir it and consume immediately. Racinec-SB Sachet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How it works
Racinec-SB Sachet is a combination of two medicines: Racecadotril and Saccharomyces boulardii which reduce symptoms of diarrhoea in children. Racecadotril has an anti-secretory effect. It reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine. This helps to reduce the amount of fluid loss from the body in diarrhoea. Saccharomyces boulardii is a live microorganism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset due to intestinal infections.

Take light meals and avoid fatty, spicy, or heavy food Drink plenty of fluids, especially ORS (oral rehydration solution) Do not drink alcohol while taking and till 4 days after taking this medication Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours Do not use Racinec-SB Sachet if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated
