Pychlor Dexa Eye Ointment is a combination of three medicines used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes, relieving pain, itching, discomfort, and irritation. Pychlor Dexa Eye Ointment is strictly advised to be used only in the eyes. Use it in the prescribed dose and duration. Apply it only to the affected eyes. You must wash your hand before administering the medicine. Do not use it more than the recommended dose. The medicine should not be stopped suddenly without a doctor's consultation. It is generally safe but it may sometimes cause discomfort, irritation, and burning sensation in the eyes. These effects are mild and go away in some time. However, if these effects persist, you should consult the doctor immediately.
Pychlor Dexa Eye Ointment is a combination of two antibiotics (Chloramphenicol and Polymyxin B) and a steroid (Dexamethasone). The antibiotics work by killing the bacteria or stopping their growth. Together they treat your eye infection effectively. The steroid blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen, and itchy.
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.
