Prolans 30mg Capsule is a medicine that reduces the amount of acid produced in your stomach. It is used for treating acid-related diseases of the stomach and intestine such as acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and some other stomach conditions associated with excessive acid production. Prolans 30mg Capsule is also used to prevent stomach ulcers and acidity that may be seen with the prolonged use of painkillers. It belongs to a class of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). This medicine should be taken one hour before a meal preferably in the morning. The dose will depend on your underlying condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep on taking it as prescribed even if your symptoms disappear quickly. You can increase the efficiency of the treatment by eating smaller meals more often and avoiding caffeinated drinks (like tea and coffee) and spicy or fatty foods.

Prolans 30mg Capsule is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat peptic ulcer disease (gastric and duodenal ulcers), reflux esophagitis or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and Zollinger Ellison syndrome (ZES). It reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach.
How do I administer Prolans 30mg Capsule through a nasogastric tube?
Your doctor or nurse will demonstrate the correct method for administering Prolans 30mg Capsule through a nasogastric (NG) tube. Empty the granules from the capsule into a syringe, mix with apple juice, attach the syringe to the NG tube, and administer the contents directly into the stomach. Flush the NG tube with additional apple juice to clear the tube.
Should I take Prolans 30mg Capsule on an empty stomach or with food?
Typically, Prolans 30mg Capsule is taken once daily, in the morning, on an empty stomach. If taking twice daily, take one dose in the morning and one dose in the evening. Swallow the tablets whole, without crushing or chewing, and take at least 1 hour before a meal with some water.
What foods should I avoid while taking Prolans 30mg Capsule?
It is recommended to avoid foods that can exacerbate acidity and heartburn, such as fried or spicy food, butter, oil, and juices, caffeinated drinks like cola or tea, citrus-based drinks like lemon water or orange juice, and alcohol.

Yes, Prolans 30mg Capsule is used to manage gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive gastritis in children. However, its safety and effectiveness are established only in children between 1 to 17 years of age. Consult your doctor for guidance on using Prolans 30mg Capsule in children.
