Picolax Syrup is a stimulant laxative used to treat constipation and bowel evacuation. Picolax Syrup contains Sodium picosulphate as its main active ingredient. It works by stimulating the bowel muscles to increase peristalsis, propelling the content of the bowel out of the body. It is used to treat constipation and bowel evacuation. However, it is essential to consult a doctor if you experience any side effects or allergic reactions.
Sodium picosulphate is metabolized by gut bacteria into the active compound 4,4’-dihydroxydiphenyl-(2-pyridiyl)-methane, which is a stimulant laxative that increases peristalsis in the gut and gently stimulates the bowel muscles to increased peristalsis.
