Pexiol 0.75mg Tablet ER is used to treat Parkinson's disease and restless leg syndrome by slowing down body movements and mimicking the action of dopamine. Pexiol 0.75mg Tablet ER should be taken with food, at the same time each day, and in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. It is important to finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. This medication must not be stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor. Some common side effects include nausea, dry mouth, fatigue, hallucinations, constipation, and peripheral edema.
Pexiol 0.75mg Tablet ER works by mimicking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger that is needed to control movement in the brain.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Pexiol 0.75mg Tablet ER is to be taken with food.
- You have been prescribed Pexiol 0.75mg Tablet ER to treat your symptoms of Parkinson's disease and/or restless leg syndrome.
- Take it with or without food. Taking it with food may reduce nausea.
- For restless leg syndrome, take this medicine 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.
- Avoid activities that require you to be alert, such as driving a car, until you know how this medication affects you.
- When you first start taking Pexiol 0.75mg Tablet ER, it may cause sudden drop in your blood pressure when you change positions. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
Alcohol
Pexiol 0.75mg Tablet ER may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Breastfeed
Pexiol 0.75mg Tablet ER is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Pexiol 0.75mg Tablet ER may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby.
