Oxoford MZ Syrup is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. Oxoford MZ Syrup is a combination of three active ingredients, including ofloxacin and metronidazole, which are antibiotics, and simethicone, a gas-absorbing agent. It is used to treat bacterial infections in children, such as those affecting the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria, killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing their growth and stopping the infection. Simethicone helps to remove gas bubbles and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.

- Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water.
- Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Oxoford MZ Syrup on tongue) after taking Oxoford MZ Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help.
- Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Oxoford MZ Syrup as these can affect the absorption of the medicine.
- Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Oxoford MZ Syrup treats only bacterial infections.
- Discontinue Oxoford MZ Syrup and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing.
- Only give Oxoford MZ Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
