Omnitil 5mg Tablet MD is used in the treatment of vertigo (dizziness) due to ear problems, nausea, vomiting, and migraine caused by various conditions. Omnitil 5mg Tablet MD is used in the treatment of vertigo (dizziness) due to ear problems (Meniere’s syndrome and other labyrinthine disorders), nausea, vomiting, and migraine caused by various conditions. Additionally, can be used as a short-term treatment for non-psychotic anxiety.
Omnitil 5mg Tablet MD is a vestibular suppressant, i.e., it suppresses the vestibular apparatus in the inner ear by blocking the H1 receptor and stops vertigo. It acts within 30 minutes and therefore is effective during acute attacks. It also acts as a dopamine antagonist. Dopamine controls the region in the brain that causes nausea and vomiting and this medicine blocks the action of dopamine. Therefore, Omnitil 5mg Tablet MD shows an anti-nauseating and antiemetic action.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not handle the tablets with wet hands. Put it in your mouth but do not swallow it. Omnitil 5mg Tablet MD is to be taken with food.
Alcohol
Omnitil 5mg Tablet MD may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Breastfeed
Omnitil 5mg Tablet MD should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body. However, occasional short-term use of Omnitil 5mg Tablet MD for the treatment of nausea and vomiting poses little risk to the breastfed infant.
