In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Ofl M Syrup is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
What if I accidentally overdose on Ofl M Syrup?
Although an extra dose of Ofl M Syrup will not have any side effects, you must always be vigilant. If you think you have given too much Ofl M Syrup to your child, immediately speak to a doctor. - Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Ofl M Syrup as these can affect the absorption of the medicine.
- Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions.
- Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics.
- Discontinue Ofl M Syrup and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing.
- Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
