Novastat-TG 5 Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines used to lower cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, reducing the risk of heart disease. Novastat-TG 5 Tablet is a combination of two lipids (fat) lowering medicines. It is used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (eg. low-fat diet) on their own have failed. This medicine helps to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Novastat-TG 5 Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Fenofibrate and Rosuvastatin. Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood while Rosuvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL). Both raise the levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).
Can the use of Novastat-TG 5 Tablet cause liver damage?
Novastat-TG 5 Tablet contains Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. A very rare (1 in 10,000 patient) side effect of this medicine is liver damage. Use of this medicine should be avoided in patients with underlying liver disease. If you experience any early signs or symptoms of liver damage (e.g., fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal liver enzymes) contact your doctor immediately.
Can the use of Novastat-TG 5 Tablet cause muscle pain?
Yes, Novastat-TG 5 Tablet may cause muscle pain due to muscle injury. However, this side effect does not occur in everybody. If you are experiencing symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness, talk to your doctor as soon as possible.

While taking Novastat-TG 5 Tablet, making healthy lifestyle changes can benefit you. Quit smoking as it lowers your risk of heart attack and stroke. If you are overweight or obese, try to lose weight. Maintain a healthy diet by consuming fruits and vegetables in every meal. Regular exercise strengthens your heart and decreases your risk of a heart attack.

Novastat-TG 5 Tablet may interact with other medications and can cause serious problems. Consult your doctor before taking any prescription or non-prescription medication, especially if you are already using Novastat-TG 5 Tablet.
What are the instructions for the storage and disposal of Novastat-TG 5 Tablet?
Keep this medicine in its original packaging and tightly closed. Store according to the instructions on the label or package. Dispose of unused medication, ensuring it is not accessible to pets, children, or other people.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Novastat-TG 5 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- Notify your doctor if you experience muscle symptoms (pain or weakness) particularly if accompanied with fever.
- Notify your doctor if you experience stomach pain, loss of hunger, a sick feeling or dark urine.
- Do not discontinue Novastat-TG 5 Tablet without consulting your doctor even if you feel better.
- Notify your doctor if you experience any side effects.
- Avoid alcohol consumption (includes wine, beer, and liquor).
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Novastat-TG 5 Tablet.
Breastfeed
Novastat-TG 5 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Novastat-TG 5 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
