Ncrd-OD Tablet PR is a medicine used to prevent and treat heart-related chest pain (angina). It is usually prescribed when other heart medicines are either not suitable or have not worked. Ncrd-OD Tablet PR may be taken with or without food. It should be swallowed whole with water. Take this medicine regularly and at about the same time(s) each day. Your doctor will decide the dose and how often you should take it. This may change from time to time depending on how well it is working. Do not stop taking it without talking to our doctor as sudden withdrawal may cause your chest pain to come back. You can improve the health of your heart by making some lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, cutting down on alcohol, eating well, exercising regularly, and managing stress.
Ncrd-OD Tablet PR is a vasodilator. It works by reducing the workload of the heart. As a result, heart muscle does not need as much blood and oxygen supply. It also relaxes coronary artery (that carries blood to heart). This reduces the frequency and severity of angina attacks.
What class of drug is Ncrd-OD Tablet PR and what is it used for?
Ncrd-OD Tablet PR belongs to a class of medicines known as 'potassium channel openers', which widens the arteries, decreasing the workload of the heart and improving blood and oxygen supply to the heart muscle. It is prescribed to patients with stable angina who cannot take other medicines for angina.
Can I stop taking Ncrd-OD Tablet PR?
No, you should not stop taking Ncrd-OD Tablet PR without consulting your doctor first. Stopping the medication suddenly may cause your anginal pain to recur. If you are experiencing any side effects, talk to your doctor.
How long does it take Ncrd-OD Tablet PR to start working?

Can I take Ncrd-OD Tablet PR if I am taking aspirin?
You should avoid taking Ncrd-OD Tablet PR and aspirin together, as taking the two medicines together increases the risk of ulcer or bleeding in the mouth, stomach, or intestine. If you notice blood in your stool or vomit while using Ncrd-OD Tablet PR, consult your doctor immediately.
Who should not use Ncrd-OD Tablet PR?
People who are allergic to Ncrd-OD Tablet PR or any of its ingredients should avoid using this medicine. Additionally, patients with heart problems such as cardiogenic shock, left ventricular failure with low filling pressure, cardiac decompensation, or pulmonary edema should not use Ncrd-OD Tablet PR. Patients taking medicines to treat erectile dysfunction or pulmonary hypertension should also avoid using Ncrd-OD Tablet PR, as it may affect their blood pressure.
Can Ncrd-OD Tablet PR affect my sex life?
No, Ncrd-OD Tablet PR does not affect your sex life. However, it is not recommended to take medicines used to treat erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation while taking Ncrd-OD Tablet PR, as taking them together can lead to a serious drop in your blood pressure.

- Inform your doctor if you notice any bleeding from the anal passage, blood in vomit or black stools.

Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ncrd-OD Tablet PR.
Breastfeed
Ncrd-OD Tablet PR is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Ncrd-OD Tablet PR may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
