MY Pill Tablet is a combination of two hormonal medicines used to treat symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) such as excessive hair growth (hirsutism), acne, and irregular periods. It also works as a contraceptive, hence avoid using any other contraceptive pill.
MY Pill Tablet is a combination of two hormonal medicines: Cyproterone and Ethinyl Estradiol which treats PCOS symptoms such as acne, excessive hair growth (hirsutism) and irregular periods. Cyproterone works by blocking the overproduction of androgens (male hormones) in the ovaries, thereby reducing unwanted hair growth and acne. Ethinyl Estradiol enhances the effect of Cyproterone by reducing the amount of androgens in the blood. Together, they also regularize the menstrual cycle in PCOS.
What is MY Pill Tablet?
MY Pill Tablet contains two hormonal medicines: Cyproterone and Ethinyl Estradiol. It is used to treat Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) symptoms like acne, excessive hair growth (hirsutism), and irregular periods. Cyproterone blocks the production of androgens in the ovaries to reduce unwanted hair growth and acne. Ethinyl Estradiol enhances the effect of Cyproterone by reducing levels of androgens in your bloodstream.
How and in what dose should I take MY Pill Tablet?
Start MY Pill Tablet on day 1 or 2 of your menstrual cycle. Take it as instructed by your doctor, preferably at the same time each day for consistent medication levels.
What if I miss a dose of MY Pill Tablet?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If missed by more than 12 hours, do not take the missed dose and continue with your usual dosing schedule. However, to prevent pregnancy, use a non-hormonal contraceptive method (like condoms) during this cycle. Frequent missed doses can cause unexpected vaginal bleeding or spotting. Consult your doctor if it lasts for long.
What if I vomit after taking MY Pill Tablet?
If you experience vomiting within 3-4 hours of taking the tablet, repeat the dose.
Does MY Pill Tablet also work as a contraceptive?
Yes, MY Pill Tablet provides contraception when taken correctly. Do not use other hormonal birth control pills while on this medication.
What are the common side effects of taking MY Pill Tablet?
Common side effects include nausea, stomach pain, weight gain, headache, mood changes, and breast tenderness. Most of these symptoms are temporary. If they persist, consult your doctor immediately.
How long will MY Pill Tablet take to reduce acne?
It usually takes 3-4 weeks to notice improvements. Finish the full course for the best results. Inform your doctor if you do not see improvement after completing the treatment.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. MY Pill Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- Take your pill at the same time every day to help you remember to take it.
- Do not use MY Pill Tablet if you are obese, over 50, smoke, on prolonged bed rest or have a history of blood clots.
- Stop taking it and inform your doctor if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain or changes in vision.
- You may experience vaginal spotting (blood stain) or breakthrough bleeding while taking MY Pill Tablet. This is temporary. Inform your doctor if it lasts longer.
- If your period fails to come within a week after completing your course, do not start the next course before consulting your doctor.
- It works as a contraceptive. So, do not use any additional hormonal contraceptives when using this medicine.
Alcohol
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with MY Pill Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
MY Pill Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
MY Pill Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
