Mucopain Gel is used as a local anesthesia to numb the tissues in a specific area, relieving pain from minor mouth problems such as toothache, mouth ulcers, sore gums, or mouth/gum injury. Apply Mucopain Gel to the affected area of the mouth or gums. Make sure to wash your hands before and after using this medicine. Follow the directions on the label or those given to you by your doctor. Do not use this medicine more often than directed. This medicine should not be used in children younger than 2 years as it may cause serious side effects. This medicine is not for long-term use. Do not use it for longer than directed by your doctor. Let your doctor know if your condition does not improve within a few days or if you notice redness, itching, or swelling at the site of application. The affected area of your mouth will be numb. Do not chew gum or food until the numbness wears off. Use of this medicine may cause burning, itching, irritation, and swelling at the site of application in some people. If these reactions do not resolve on their own or get worse, you should let your doctor know. They may be able to suggest ways to treat or reduce the side effects.
Mucopain Gel works by blocking pain signals from the peripheral nerves to the brain, which decreases the sensation of pain.
Check the label for directions before use. Gently apply the gel to the affected area inside your mouth. Refrain from eating or drinking immediately after applying the gel.
