Monit 20 Tablet is used to prevent heart-related chest pain (angina). It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels so blood can flow more easily to the heart. Monit 20 Tablet may be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the dose and how often you should take them. This may change from time to time depending on how well they are working. You should take this medicine as it has been prescribed and keep taking it even if you feel well. This medicine helps to prevent chest pain in the future. If you stop taking it, your risk of chest pain will increase, especially if you stop taking them suddenly. Lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this medication work better.
Monit 20 Tablet is a nitrate. It dilates peripheral arteries and veins. Dilation of the veins promotes peripheral pooling of blood and decreases venous return to the heart thereby reducing workload of heart. As a result, the heart muscle does not need as much blood and oxygen supply.
Does Monit 20 Tablet affect heart rate?
Yes, Monit 20 Tablet may affect heart rate. It can cause a decrease in blood pressure, which may lead to a decrease in heart rate (bradycardia) or an increase in heart rate (tachycardia). If you experience any changes in your heart rate or do not feel well after taking this medicine, consult your doctor.
What if I forget to take a dose of Monit 20 Tablet?
If you forget to take a dose of Monit 20 Tablet, you can take it if you remember within 12 hours of the scheduled time. However, if you remember it after 12 hours, skip the missed dose and continue with the next dose as scheduled.
Can I stop taking Monit 20 Tablet after sometime?
No, do not stop taking Monit 20 Tablet without consulting your doctor. Stopping the medicine suddenly may increase your risk of having an anginal attack. If you have any concerns, consult your doctor for guidance.
What are the symptoms of an overdose of Monit 20 Tablet?
Taking more than the recommended dose of Monit 20 Tablet may cause symptoms such as throbbing headache, reddening of the skin, chills, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and a fast heartbeat. If you take more than the recommended dose, seek emergency help and consult your doctor immediately.
Can Monit 20 Tablet be taken at night?
The dosage schedule for Monit 20 Tablet depends on the dose prescribed by your doctor. If taking a single dose, it is recommended to take it in the morning. If taking it twice a day, maintain a gap of 7 hours between the two doses to minimize the risk of tolerance.
Does Monit 20 Tablet lower BP?

Can I take sildenafil while taking Monit 20 Tablet?
No, you should not take sildenafil along with Monit 20 Tablet. Both medicines lower blood pressure and belong to the same class. Taking these two medicines together may cause a severe decrease in blood pressure, fainting, and even a heart attack. Avoid taking other medicines belonging to similar classes, such as vardenafil and tadalafil, as well.

Alcohol
Consuming alcohol while taking Monit 20 Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
