Migralaxis Tablet SR is a combination of two medicines that helps in preventing migraine. This medicine is not used for treatment of acute migraine attack. Migralaxis Tablet SR should be taken on empty stomach but try to have it same time regularly at a fixed time preferably at night. Migralaxis Tablet SR is a combination of two medicines: Propranolol and Flunarizine which prevents migraine. Propranolol is a beta blocker and Flunarizine is a calcium channel blocker. They work by stabilizing the reactive nerve cells and increasing the threshold to migraine activation. They also inhibit cortical spreading depression (CSD- electric waves that move across the brain and cause pain and inflammation).
In which conditions is the use of Migralaxis Tablet SR contraindicated?
Migralaxis Tablet SR is contraindicated in patients with an allergy to any of its ingredients or excipients. It contains propranolol, so its use should be avoided in patients with asthma, slow heart rate, abnormal heart rhythms, or heart conditions such as AV block or sick sinus syndrome. Additionally, due to the presence of flunarizine, its use is contraindicated in patients with a history of depression or Parkinson's disease.
