Mesazed 800 Tablet is an anti-inflammatory medicine used to treat a type of bowel disease known as ulcerative colitis. Mesazed 800 Tablet is an aminosalicylate used to treat mild inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis. It helps to reduce symptoms such as diarrhea, bleeding and stomach pain by reducing inflammation in the bowel. It may also be used to treat another type of bowel disease known as Crohn's ileocolitis. The dose will depend on what you are being treated for but take it exactly as your doctor prescribes.
Mesazed 800 Tablet is an aminosalicylate. It works by suppressing the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause inflammation (swelling) in the intestines. This reduces ulceration, bleeding and stomach pain, and prevents future flare-ups of the disease.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mesazed 800 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- You have been prescribed Mesazed 800 Tablet for treating and lowering the symptoms of mild inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis.
- Do not take Mesazed 800 Tablet if you are allergic to aspirin or if you have blood disorders.
- Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor.
- Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
- Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.
Alcohol
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Mesazed 800 Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
Mesazed 800 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. If you are taking Mesazed 800 Tablet, monitor the baby for diarrhea.
Pregnancy
Mesazed 800 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
