Megalis 5mg Tablet is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men and benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). It increases blood flow to the penis to help men get an erection. Megalis 5mg Tablet may be taken on an empty stomach or with a meal. It should be strictly taken as advised by your doctor. The medicine will only help you to get an erection if you are sexually stimulated. You should take it about one hour before you plan to have sex. The amount of time it takes to work varies from person to person but it normally takes between 30 minutes and one hour. Only take it if you need it and it has been prescribed to you by a doctor.
Megalis 5mg Tablet is a phosphodiesterase (PDE-5) inhibitor. It works in erectile dysfunction by increasing blood flow to penis by relaxing the muscles in penile blood vessels.
Can the use of Megalis 5mg Tablet affect fertility?
Using Megalis 5mg Tablet does not have any effect on fertility. It works by relaxing the muscles of penile blood vessels, and its mechanism of action does not interfere with reproductive functions.
Do I need to avoid alcohol while taking Megalis 5mg Tablet?
While moderate alcohol consumption is unlikely to cause any significant issues, excessive drinking (five units or more) may increase your risk of experiencing adverse effects such as headaches, dizziness, increased heart rate, and low blood pressure. It is essential to consume alcohol responsibly and in moderation while taking Megalis 5mg Tablet.
What are the symptoms that should prompt me to discontinue Megalis 5mg Tablet?
If you experience any of the following symptoms, it is crucial to seek medical attention immediately: sudden vision loss in one or both eyes, a significant decrease in hearing or permanent hearing loss, ringing in your ears, persistent dizziness, prolonged erections lasting more than four hours, or painful erections lasting longer than six hours. Consult with your doctor regarding any concerns you may have.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Megalis 5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- Take it an hour before sexual intercourse
- Take it anytime between 30 minutes and 4 hours before sexual activity
- Do not take it more than once a day
- Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you
- Avoid drinking alcohol as it can reduce your ability to get an erection and can make dizziness worse
- Seek medical attention if the erection persists for more than 4 hours after sexual intercourse
- Do not use Megalis 5mg Tablet if you have recently taken nitrates (medicines used in angina or chest pain)
- Do not use Megalis 5mg Tablet if you have had a heart attack in the past 3 months or stroke or heart failure in the past 6 months

Alcohol
